Hong Kong – Fashion Capital of Asia?

Hong Kong, Hong Kong. A short 3 hour plane ride away, and a favourite destination of many Singaporeans. It shares so many similarities with us and yet couldn’t be more different. Similar food, a fast paced society, fashionable people and millions sardine packed into a small geographical area. Yet, the place seems to be a little more uncoordinated, a little more mystery greets you at the turn of the corner and the air just seems that bit more hazy. Other than that, you really can’t tell the difference between the two cities. 

The Reebonz team was there on a business trip recently and were we men on a mission. I have to say outright: Excluding Tokyo, Hong Kong is THE fashion capital of Asia. At least for luxury labels anyway. Most of the brands we know have their head office of Asia based in Hong Kong. It could be the close proximity to China but one gets the vibe that if you want to talk fashion, you better be in Hong Kong. 

We met with several interested parties and are excited about the possibilities that are opening up. Watch this space and we will have more updates! 

Now… if only I can get Tokyo out of my head,
